Loyalty is incredibly important to me. I believe that it important to stand by the people we care about through both good times and bad. I believe that achieving a common goal requires loyalty from those involved. If we are to be creative, honest, and people-oriented, loyalty must come first. 

As someone with a deep love of learning, I recognize that there is much that I will never know. It is my duty to seek out those who know more than me, and listen to what they share. This includes those that come from different backgrounds than myself and those with different experiences.

There can be no justice without equity, and there can be no progress without justice. I believe equity is of the upmost importance in any environment I am a part of. It is the responsibility of those in power to make the world a better place for everyone, regardless of political or religious beliefs, physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, and race. 

It is very difficult to be a human. The human condition is complex, frustrating, and confusing at the best of times. It is important to me that compassion is in the forefront of my mind whenever I interact with anyone. The kinder we are to each other, the kinder our world becomes. 

I once read that honesty is the highest form of respect. That has stuck with me throughout my academic career. Being honest with my peers, professors, and workplace leaders makes strong communication much easier, and it is something that I strive for in every interaction that I have. Tactful honesty is vital.

With every experience, I am reminded of how much we all need each other. Teamwork and compromise allow us to cover each others' strengths and weaknesses to provide the best service possible.
